Statement From Director General

I warmly welcome you to the official website of the Tanzania Food and Drugs Authority (TFDA).

The aim of this website is to make TFDA more accountable and responsinve to its stakeholders and the public at large in fulfilling its principal duty of regulating the quality and safety of food, drugs, cosmetics and medical devices marketed in Tanzania for the purpose of protecting public health from the hazards associated with the use of such products.

This website provides electronic access to a wide range of information which include TFDA activities, policies, laws, regulations , guidelines and services offered related to food, drugs, cosmetics and medical devices. The other information are latest alerts on various issues such as banned products.

It is our hope that with this established website, TFDA will be more closer to its stakeholders.Further more usefulness of this website will be realized only if stakeholders will objectively use it to transact their business and also to furnish relevant information timely to TFDA.

We are eager to receive feed back and constructive criticism through our website www.tfda.or.tz regarding our Services and ready to share information with any interested party. The feedback form is available for achieving this envisaged end. We provide prompt response to any comment or inquiry made.
